Counter - consecutive or fixed digits?
What you should choose depends on the intended use:
Consecutive digits
Many document management systems (DMS) use the archiving labels as a unique reference number, which is why consecutively numbered archiving labels are usually used here.
You also usually need consecutive digits for the inventory of objects or test labels.
Fixed digits
This is different when separating different document types, where the document management system then needs a fixed identifier as a barcode. In this case, the archiving label always has the same number or character string; fixed digits are then used.
Consecutive digits and multiple roles
If you order several rolls of labels, the numbers are then counted across all the rolls, e.g. the first roll contains the numbers 0001-99999, the second roll then 1,000-1,999 etc. - You don't need to worry about anything, of course we also provide the rolls with the included number range so that you don't have to guess where to start...
