What is the significance of the number of jobs?
The number of digits in the barcode is the number of characters contained in the barcode. The more digits encoded in the barcode, the wider the barcode and therefore the barcode label. And depending on the barcode type, the barcode becomes wider more or less quickly as the number of digits increases, which in turn has an influence on the label size to ensure scannability.
Number range and start number
Numbers, or numbers preceded by letters and special characters, are used for the number range of the archiving labels. This makes it easier to assign them to different areas or time periods.
An example is a consecutively numbered counter, preceded by “ER-” for incoming invoice. Entry in the start number field: ER-000001 -> ER-000001 , ER-000002, ER-000003 ...
Or as a combination with the year of use, for example: “ER17-” for incoming invoice in the year of use 2017. Entry in the start number field: ER17-000001 -> ER17-000001, ER17-000002, ER17-000003... The barcode overview below shows which barcode type is suitable for letters.
When you enter the start number in the input field, the system checks directly whether the selected combination is correct. You are therefore on the safe side here and are doing everything correctly.
