Document archiving

Our pollutant-free archiving labels, which can be ordered online, are the high-quality solution for your document archiving requirements. Specially developed for archiving paper documents, the labels are produced in accordance with the relevant standards and can therefore be easily integrated into all document management systems (DMS).

Barcode types

The different barcode types are comparable to different languages with which the characters to be coded are represented in bars. To ensure that the software and labels work together, the archiving labels must always be printed with the barcode type for which the document management system is configured. If in doubt, simply send us an image or scan of the barcode currently in use and we will be happy to determine the type. Each barcode type has its own characteristics and advantages. For the user, there are three main distinguishing features.

• the ability to encode only numeric or also alphanumeric characters, i.e. numbers in combination with letters(barcode overview)
• the resulting size of the barcode and therefore also the minimum size of the archiving labels
• Barcode contains a check digit or not ... and what is that actually?

Letters for grouping

In order to group documents according to invoices, delivery bills or different branches, for example, letters can be placed in front of the consecutive number. The prerequisite is that the barcode type can also encode letters such as Code 39 or Barcode 128B.

Material and responsibility

We only use the highest quality, bisphenol-A (BPA)-free materials PE film white and ThermoTop with a special surface coating for our archiving labels. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) now describes BPA as a substance of very high concern and has now added endocrine-disrupting properties to its reproductive toxicity, see press release Barcodeetiketten.com. This poses a particular risk for people who work in professions where they are exposed to permanent contact with such paper, for example our customers. Until a legal restriction comes into force in January 2020, the industry will unfortunately often continue to use the cheapest material available. Your health (and of course our own) is important to us, which is why we pay particular attention to the raw materials - you can rely on us and our BPA-free products.

Label size

The archiving labels are available in 3 basic sizes that cover all requirements. The more digits the barcode contains, the wider the barcode and therefore the label size. The basic rule for selection is: as small as possible and as large as necessary, because then only a minimal area of the original document is covered by the archiving label. Quality and scanability

Rich black, high-contrast printing, perfect centering on the label and, last but not least, the high-quality material are the main criteria for our archiving labels. For us, these features are the linchpin to which we pay the greatest attention - because we are proud of our products.

Number of digits

The number of digits that can be contained in the barcode when printed in accordance with standards depends on the type of barcode used and the label size. To ensure 100% reliable recognition when scanning the archiving labels, we have limited the selection options for the products. So you can't go wrong and are on the safe side.

Consecutive and fixed digits

Many document management systems (DMS) use the archiving labels as a unique reference number. This is why consecutively numbered archiving labels are used. The situation is different when different document types are separated: the document management system then needs a fixed identifier as a barcode. Accordingly, in this case the archiving label always has the same number or character sequences and is used as a document separator, for which you then use fixed digits.

Packaging

We assemble the barcode labels on rolls of 1000 pieces. Unlike labels on sheets, there are no gaps if a sheet is forgotten or lost. Our label dispensers ensure order. The inserted roll of archiving labels has its fixed place and there is no more fumbling and scrolling. Packaging

We pack your barcode labels with great care and use unbleached, environmentally friendly shaped trays made from recycled cardboard. After use, these can be recycled together with other cardboard for reuse.
The shipping carton is often used to store the goods, which is why we pack the archiving labels with the last numbers at the bottom and those with the start number at the top. This makes it easier to remove the barcode labels according to the consecutive number range. You retain an overview. In addition, each individual roll of archiving labels is provided with a labeled protective banderole. The labels are protected and it is easy to see which number range is involved.
